Panasonic Power & Automotive Relays Overview
BeiLuo supplies genuine Panasonic power and automotive relays, the relays that switch mains and battery current in appliances, industrial controls and vehicles. A power relay must carry a high current and survive the inrush of a motor or a lamp load, so the contact material, the contact gap and the arc-quenching design decide whether the relay lasts. The Panasonic JS series is a compact cube relay with a universal terminal footprint that switches up to 10 A at 250 V AC, with silver-tin-oxide contacts that resist welding under inrush and a sealed construction for automatic cleaning. The ACT series is an automotive relay built for the 12 V vehicle electrical system, with a compact sealed body that survives vibration and a wide temperature range, and it can switch up to 30 A at 14 V DC for loads such as lamps, motors and capacitive inrush. Both families are approved to the relevant safety standards and are used in home appliances, industrial control panels, HVAC equipment and automotive body electronics. A designer chooses a power relay by the coil voltage, the contact arrangement, the switching capacity and the inrush rating, and by the terminal and mounting style that fits the board or the harness. The sealed construction matters where the board is washed after assembly, and the wide temperature range matters in an appliance or a vehicle. BeiLuo holds mainstream JS and ACT ratings in stock and ships every relay with an import declaration, a certificate of origin and a RoHS file, and our FAE team helps with the contact, inrush and coil selection.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a power relay used for?
A power relay switches a mains or battery load, such as a motor, a heater, a lamp or a compressor, from a low-voltage control signal. It isolates the control electronics from the load and provides a physical contact gap that a semiconductor cannot.
It is the relay for driving a load, not for passing a signal.
How do I rate a relay for an inrush load?
A motor or a lamp draws a large inrush current for a short time, so the relay must be rated for that inrush as well as the steady current, or the contacts will weld or erode. Check the inrush figure in the datasheet, not just the resistive switching capacity.
Our FAE team can check the inrush margin for your load.
What makes an automotive relay different?
An automotive relay is built for the 12 V vehicle system, with a sealed body that survives vibration, a wide temperature range and contacts sized for the inrush of lamps and motors. The ACT series switches up to 30 A at 14 V DC in a compact footprint.
Choose it for body electronics, not for a mains appliance.
Can the relay be washed after assembly?
A sealed relay can be washed and cleaned after soldering without contaminating the contacts, which suits an automatic production line. A flux-resistant relay cannot. Confirm the protective construction code before you specify the part.
Ask us for the sealed version of your rating.
